I am trying to set up a NIS master, but the handbook seems to be out of date. When I run ypserv, after a couple minutes, I get the following in /var/log/messages: Jun 17 17:36:22 webdev ypserv[9370]: unable to register (YPPROG, YPOLDVERS, udp) My domainname is set, and I am running ypinit -m [dommainname], which gives me the following annoying errors: yp_mkdb: failed to send 'clear' to local ypserv: RPC: Port mapper failure over and over again. I have portmapper running, so I don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated. -Brian To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
