I never thought I'd have an entry in the Uptime Wars. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find a colleague fiddling with an old 486 I set up ages ago in a dank corner of the machine room to manage ppp over 2 leased lines to outlying offices. "Is anyone still using this?", I ask. "Every day", he replies, "In fact, I'm adding more users." $ uptime 3:17PM up 356 days, 23:56, 1 user, load averages: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00 So, we can have a birthday beer for it round the pub next Friday afternoon. It runs 2.0.5 and seems to have a peaceful and productive existence. Stephen.
