I also prefer to see LC_MESSAGES in English, but that does not mean I am forced to disable NLS whenever possible. It is just a matter of setting an environment variable. Given that gettext is so widely used it is mostly guaranteed that it will be installed on a system with more than a dozen of ports, size/deps savings are probably marginal anyways. ./danfe
