Hi, I own an Acer TravelMate 507DX, the PC Card/Cardbus controller is an O2Micro OZ6812. In past, I had a problem with that laptop: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=kern/21323 it was fixed. Today I have a similar problem: With 4-STABLE if I add device pcm in the kernel config, the laptop hangs at boot at the same place. Here's a part of boot -v: pccard0: <PC Card bus (classic)> on pcic0 isab0: <Intel 82443MX PCI to ISA bridge> at device 7.0 on pci0 isa0: <ISA bus> on isab0 atapci0: <Intel PIIX4 ATA33 controller> port 0x8000-0x800f at device 7.1 on pci0 ata0: iobase=0x01f0 altiobase=0x03f6 bmaddr=0x8000 After reading some mails on various lists, I just added options PCI_ENABLE_IO_MODES in the kernel (device pcm was removed) to see, I got the same freeze. So I downloaded a -CURRENT live-cdrom and I booted on it, here's what I got (-CURRENT from Sat Aug 17 21:35:32 GMT 2002): pci0: <PCI bus> on pcib0 pci0: <multimedia, audio> at device 0.1 (no driver attached) pci0: <simple comms> at device 0.2 (no driver attached) pci0: <display, VGA> at device 2.0 (no driver attached) cbb0: <O2Mirco OZ6812/6872 PCI-CardBus Bridge> irq 11 at device 6.0 on pci0 cardbus0: <CardBus bus> on cbb0 pccard0: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb0 isab0: <PCI-ISA bridge> at device 7.0 on pci0 isa0: <ISA bus> on isab0 atapci0: <Intel PIIX4 ATA33 controller> port 0x8000-0x800f at device 7.1 on pci0 ata0: iobase=0x01f0 altiobase=0x03f6 bmaddr=0x8000 I'm not an expert :)), but it seems to be the same problem. Any advices? Marc PS: Here's the boot -v output of a working -STABLE kernel Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project.
