I'll try and find some time to take a look at this.  I will note that
you absolutly can not use ancontrol and ifconfig to mess with the media
in the same session.  I didn't try to support that because you generally
shouldn't be using ancontrol.

You pretty much need to use a static kernel for the debugger to work

As far as I know the home profile is just a software thing that uses the
temporary key support.  Supporting multiple profiles isn't ifconfig's
job.  It's the job of a higher level probing script.
