I am doing similar thing with proxy servers that share their
traffic. In my ns-file I have something like

server1		IN	A  	ip.number.for.1
server2		IN	A	ip.number.for.2	

proxy		IN	CNAME	server1
proxy		IN	CNAME	server2

and this works fine for me
