Anyone who can steal your cookies (which is pretty easy for most people) can do whatever the heck they want with your account. If you use barnes and noble, you definitely want to make sure you have a separate "session" where you only login, use them, then log out explicitly. Don't go to other sites, read email with a HTML mail reader, etc. while you are logged in. Although Amazon has had some issues, they have barnesandnoble.com beat by a mile in this area.
