Craig If the kernel hint may not work due to no media . You can try three other options . Tweak devd to stop checking the device . It’s doable but I can’t recall the details . Set a hint to stop loading the device that the mmc / sd card reader hangs off . Check pciconf to pin down its address . There are examples how to do this in the dpdk docs , they show how to do this in the case of a nic . It should apply to all devices.
