Netscape has never supported FreeBSD or BSDI even though a binary exists. Netscape does support Linux v1.2.x and v2.2.x versions. I don't know if the FreeBSD developers or Netscape has ever explained why the support is not there. I'm finding out that the availability of Linux has helped it in these areas. Most of the vendors target Linux as a workstation and server while FreeBSD is mainly seen as a server-only product. Kinda like how Microsoft did the Workstation and Server versions of NT and Sun with Solaris. I don't see many reviews on using FreeBSd as a workstation andhow stable those applications are on FreeBSD or supported. Its always the Linux emulation of something. Going down that road of emulation, have you tried the Linux v2.2 binary of Netscape v4.75 on FreeBSD 4.1R?!? Maybe there is some "black majik (int.)" in that build that we don't know about. By the way, Netscape randomly crashes on Solaris so don't feel bad. I've seen it happen on different patches and builds of Solaris. >From: "O.
