I got the card working completely. I am able to assign an IP, shift
the card into ad-hoc mode, and ping packets out into thin air (I have
no base station yet).
I'm getting no error messages. My transmit light is even blinking
when I ping. :) The card is using a verbatium copy of the Lucent
WaveLAN entry in pccard.conf, and I just changed the IRQ to another
one that I forced free in my kernel config.

I have one question: how do I put my card in promisc mode ? I see
the line in wicontrol, but I don't see the parameter to change it.

My suggested setup help for anyone with a Sony Vaio and a Sony Vaio
WaveLAN card:

edit your kernel config
Remove serial and parallel port entries (no choice, there are
just too many irqs used)
Set your first pccard controller to irq 4 (where it says irq
0)
Set your second pccard controller to irq 16, and leave it
marked disabled
        rebuild kernel
edit your pccard.conf
change the irq list to include only irq 7
copy the Lucent WaveLAN configuration to a new configuration
with the CIS tags "Sony Corporation" "PCWA-C100" "Version 01.01"
reboot
