I can't speak for DES, but that's not really my criticism of the last US election. I don't particularly care if the winner didn't win the popular vote, to me that's fine if it's the constitutional and accepted route. In fact, the way I look at it is, 75% of the country either voted Bush or didn't care either way, which makes him legitimate enough for me... But that wasn't the only problem last time (hence my Supreme Court remark).
