I'm not using the Dell PowerEdge 1600sc ($549), but got a similar deal
directly from Dell a few months back: PowerEdge 600Sc with 1.8GHz CPU,
256MB RAM, 2x20GB IDE, amr hardware 4-channel IDE RAID, gig ether,
keybd, mouse, and no Microsoft tax. About $700 delivered. (DELL
sells the RAID card alone for $300)

Works like a champ. I replaced the 20GB drives with 4x120GB WD1200JB
drives in a RAID-5 config and it boots quite happily. Seems like a
nice box, good price.

Dell's web site seemed to have new "specials" every week: sometimes
free RAM, sometimes free second disk, sometimes free RAID controller
(then you have to pay their price for a second disk when you order).
But they do seem like rather decent prices and well-built HW.
