If the port doesn't currently have a maintainer (i.e., the current maintainer is ports@FreeBSD.org), submit a PR with a patch to change the maintainer (and you'll probably make a committer happy if you also include the patch to upgrade the port ;-) You don't necessarily have to be the port maintainer to submit a patch. You can just submit the PR containing the patch, and have the current maintainer approve it... Probably best is to work something out with the current maintainer beforehand, if there is one... maybe he/she is working on an upgrade already, or has a good reason NOT to upgrade the port. Read the porter's handbook for more information. I think this is all pretty much documented somewhere. - Ryan > Thanks > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message > -- Ryan Thompson <ryan@sasknow.com> Network Administrator, Accounts SaskNow Technologies - http://www.sasknow.com #106-380 3120 8th St E - Saskatoon, SK - S7H 0W2 Tel: 306-664-3600 Fax: 306-664-1161 Saskatoon Toll-Free: 877-727-5669 (877-SASKNOW) North America To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
