This is already a FAQ, right along with "How do we get back a version
that has _any_ security (SSL) support built in?" - various people are
indeed working on both problems and I suspect that any further queries
by us on these topics would merely be redundant at best. :)

http://www.mozilla.org/community.html contains some good pointers to
forums where these topics are already being actively discussed.
