I am not sure about bug report.

I do know that this problem started with the ATA device revamp and it HAS
NOT been resolved.

I appear to be suffering from the same problem as the mails referenced
below, where nothing short of a reboot will kill a tape process once begun.
I have an IBM (Seagate) Travan Drive, as slave on the primary IDE channel,
and the hardware is identified, but will neither complete the task or return
the console when a command is sent. Is there an official bug report for
this problem? Is it being addressed in any fashion?
