What is your stable build date? (output from dmsg(1))
Mine is:
FreeBSD 4.6-STABLE #0: Wed Jul 3 13:30:55 EDT 2002
root@localhost:/usr/src/sys/compile/PITTGOTH
Timecounter "i8254" frequency 1193182 Hz
CPU: Pentium III/Pentium III Xeon/Celeron (498.27-MHz 686-class CPU)
Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0x681 Stepping = 1
Features=0x383f9ff<FPU,VME,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,PAE,MCE,CX8,SEP,MTRR,PGE,MCA,
CMOV,PA
T,PSE36,MMX,FXSR,SSE>
This is my IBM Thinkpad, a recent one I got my hands on ;)
Perhaps something that has been committed in the src tree
has caused a problem? (Note: all cpu specifics in my make.conf
are commented out, hence its built without any CPUTYPE settings.)
