The problem is that the -stable list is overrun with inappropriate traffic. If we open another list, it will suffer the same fate. Your best bet is to vigorously protect the sanctity of the list by privately mailing people who make inapproropriate posts. The other alternative is not to track -stable. If you don't have time to keep up with the e-mail, you're probably better off with a -release version, or following the security related posts for the new "security patches only after a release" versions.
