  ECC should work on such memory (I'm doing it on a PPro system with 8 x
32MB).  Make sure it true parity memory.

  Also, the memory could be bad.  Turning parity and/or ecc on could be
working!  The problem just isn't noticed with ecc/parity off.

  Also, make sure the SIMMs have 24 or less chips on them.
