>What is a "Super-Hardware"? Well I don't know what to call it, but it seems like there are all sorts of things that are either peripherals or hardware extensions which are neat to use, but which go beyond the common needs of files, network, printing, and X. How's about "Part II: Power Toys"? >USB is an interface as another one, it doesn't really deserve a chapter, USB is an interface? That's fairly narrow-minded. You can have a USB scanner, a USB PDA, a USB cuecat, a USB camera, a USB creative nomad, and other things no one has thought of yet, but people are developing. SCSI is an interface too, but people pretty much make disks, printers, and scanners for it. USB, right now, is where all the new toys live. Granted, getting these gadgets to work is not a USB interface issue, but I'll bet there are hangups here which these things have in common. >it's not the case of PC Card and other Cardbus which should be in a >laptop part. That part already exists as a small laptop article. OK, this might be a point. I haven't reviewed the laptop article, so I can't disagree with this. >Once again, a big *thing* can be done, with many problems in future to >split it. Things about video must be added in the Handbook, ok let's >just add a video/ directory and a dedicaced chapter. With that solution >the idea of a Multimedia or other type of part will be easy to set up. I could do this. In fact, this is what I first did, but it was suggested that a combination chapter would be better, so I editted the two together. I want to see the current chapter 14 in the handbook and then let's have a "power toys" planning group. -r To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
