There's no requirement to use Phabricator, so that's absolutely fine. However, it's completely reasonable for developers to assume that, if one has a Phabricator account then adding them is a reasonable notification of a proposed patch. If you don't want to use Phabricator, I'd ask that you consider removing your account.
