Yes, you missed the announcement.

That will no longer work (and I removed the symlinks the other day on
ftp-master), but it was never supported and only ever worked by chance
anyway.

Anyway, there's a chance we will be reverting to .tgz packages for 4.7
because the changeover was handled badly and is not yet complete.
