Unfortunately, no. The only way to upgrade is to boot into windows 9.x / NTx and do it from there; the utility that does 
the actual upgrading only runs in windows :( What you can do is turn the write cache off which should fix it too as I was 
told, but I went for the upgrade. Search the archive for turning write cache off.
