Hello,
I've just set up, what I hoped would be a caching nameserver in a
sandbox. However, after rebooting, I wanted to test to see that all is
well, and got some errors from running "ndc status":
# ndc status
ndc: error: ctl_client: evConnect(fd 3): No such file or directory
ndc: error: cannot connect to command channel (/var/run/ndc)
#
Running named -v does *not* return errors though:
# named -v
named 8.3.3-REL Wed Jul 24 02:02:32 BST 2002
root@:/usr/obj/usr/src/usr.sbin/named
#
Here's the named process:
# ps waux | grep named
root 130 0.0 0.2 964 612 ?? Is 9:17PM 0:00.07
/usr/sbin/syslogd -ss -l /etc/namedb/dev/log
bind 133 0.0 0.4 2188 1696 ?? Is 9:17PM 0:00.00
/usr/sbin/named -u bind -g bind -t /etc/namedb /etc/named.conf
#
Here's the syslog process:
# ps waux | grep -i syslog
root 130 0.0 0.2 964 612 ?? Ss 9:17PM 0:00.07
/usr/sbin/syslogd -ss -l /etc/namedb/dev/log
#
I've followed the online handbook (for running bind in a sandbox) to a
tee here, and now I'm not sure of where I go from here. Could someone
take a look at this, please?
Stacey
