However, how does the shell do that if it has been exited? > I would have set it this way. >=20 > alias rboot "shutdown -r now or time" In my WindowMaker configuration, I have set the following command for system shutdown: xterm -class SHUTDOWN -fg black -bg red -e "shutdown -p now; read DUMMY" It is associated with the Ctrl+Alt+Moon key combination (Sun USB type 7 keyboard).
