Looks familiar - I had a similar problem with a ThinkPad X22 (see my posting to -multimedia on 12th April). Two things to try: - recompile with the PCI_ENABLE_IO_MODES kernel option, to fix the unable to map IO port space. - in sys/dev/sound/pcm/ac97.c change the two instances of "DELAY(100000)" to be some larger number (I found 400000 worked, by trial and error) and recompile. There's a more elegant patch for the latter that Orion Hodson wrote, adding an adaptive timer, but I don't have it handy.
