I've just booted this patched kernel ten times in a row and got no crash.  =

this is pure nonsense on my part, but the (ahem) reliable way for me to cau=

the crash has been to enter single-user mode, run my script (that loads the
modules in question), and then exit to multi-user mode as quickly as possib=
le.=20
It doesn't always happen, but I am wondering if anything in the patch could
possibly be fixing the crash?

I am sure I am running the patched kernel.  The /boot/kernel/kernel file is=
 200
bytes longer than the unpatched kernel, which is the same length as yesterd=
ay's
kernel.
