[-- Attachment #1 --] I've installed ntop on two different machines ..... a 4.0 RELEASE where it appears to work fine, and a 4.1 RELEASE where it works in interactive (command line) mode but when I try starting in web mode (ntop -w) I get "-w mode is disabled for security reasons" The only peculiarity I saw when installing from ports in both cases was something about "lsof missing (whatever that is) so some functions will be disabled" The 4.1 system has functional CVS but not the 4.0 one (which runs ntop OK) Neither machine has a ".ntop" file that I can find, and there doesn't appear to be any mention in the rather terse man page to cover this issue. Any comments / advice would be greatly appreciated [-- Attachment #2 --] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I've installed ntop on two different machines ..... a 4.0 RELEASE where it appears to work fine, and a 4.1 RELEASE where it works in interactive (command line) mode but when I try starting in web mode (ntop -w) I get </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>"-w mode is disabled for security reasons"</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The only peculiarity I saw when installing from ports in both cases was something about "lsof missing (whatever that is) so some functions will be disabled" The 4.1 system has functional CVS but not the 4.0 one (which runs ntop OK)</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Neither machine has a ".ntop" file that I can find, and there doesn't appear to be any mention in the rather terse man page to cover this issue.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Any comments / advice would be greatly appreciated</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV></BODY></HTML>help
