This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0112_01C068DF.C48ACB80 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I've installed ntop on two different machines ..... a 4.0 RELEASE where = it appears to work fine, and a 4.1 RELEASE where it works in interactive = (command line) mode but when I try starting in web mode (ntop -w) I get=20 "-w mode is disabled for security reasons" The only peculiarity I saw when installing from ports in both cases was = something about "lsof missing (whatever that is) so some functions will = be disabled" The 4.1 system has functional CVS but not the 4.0 one = (which runs ntop OK) Neither machine has a ".ntop" file that I can find, and there doesn't = appear to be any mention in the rather terse man page to cover this = issue. Any comments / advice would be greatly appreciated ------=_NextPart_000_0112_01C068DF.C48ACB80 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I've installed ntop on two different = machines .....=20 a 4.0 RELEASE where it appears to work fine, and a 4.1 RELEASE where it = works in=20 interactive (command line) mode but when I try starting in web mode = (ntop -w) I=20 get </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>"-w mode is disabled for security=20 reasons"</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>The only peculiarity I saw when = installing from=20 ports in both cases was something about "lsof missing (whatever that is) = so some=20 functions will be disabled" The 4.1 system has functional CVS but not = the 4.0=20 one (which runs ntop OK)</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Neither machine has a ".ntop" file that = I can find,=20 and there doesn't appear to be any mention in the rather terse man page = to cover=20 this issue.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Any comments / advice would be greatly=20 appreciated</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_000_0112_01C068DF.C48ACB80-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
