I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not.

With the advent of 4.0-RELEASE, does this mean that 4.0-STABLE will soon
follow along with 5.0-CURRENT?

Or better put, how will the existance of 4.0-RELEASE affect development
overall in the FreeBSD world?

(Although I have been using FreeBSD for a few years, I have never before
been tracking -STABLE when a new major release came out.)
