The problem is that people are getting into the habit of defining global
options. It's fine to put it in and just warn people not to use it.
global options are EVIL

Boy, are you fast, this doesn't even work yet !!
I wont advise anybody to define this, or be prepared for a
surprise... (you know, there was a reason I didn't add this
myself)...
