I'm trying to add a serial console to com1.

I have the proper cable. I've read all the documentation that could be read
on this, and I still can't get it to work.

/etc/ttys says this:
ttyd0 "/usr/libexec/getty std.38400" vt100 on secure

ps -awxx says this:
349 ?? I 0:00.09 /usr/libexec/getty std.38400 ttyd0

Now the other machine is set for proper port with 38400 and No Parity but no
login.

Why does it say "??" though, shouldn't it say like "d0" or such?

If that is alright, then am I supposed to key in something for the login
prompt to appear?

Thanks,
Jay Hidalgo
