No idea. I noticed that too. According to:
https://www.freshports.org/sysutils/lsof
14.2-RELEASE - latest on amd64:
4.99.4_2,8

14.2-RELEASE - quarterly on amd64:
4.99.4,8

I choose this package because it was the first I could come up with that had no
dependencies that were already installed, other than the pv package in comment
#0 that is.

I changed temporarlily to quarterly on my 14.2R: same result, only difference,
is another version:
   [1/1] Installing lsof-4.99.4,8...

Can you confirm this behaviour with lsof?
