My recent experience is that unsubscribe took several days to fully take
effect.  I subscribed under a new e-mail address so I unsubscribed from
my old one.  The subscribe seemed to take effect quickly.  The unsubscribe
seemed to take 2-3 days for the mail flow to dry up.
