The idea is sane (FreeBSD kernel + Linux userland + liters of some glue), the only thing that got me suspicious was the fact that some of the open-source software to be produced will allegedly be only available in binary form and for some money. I guess we were a bit lost in translation, but that's how it sounded. The developers want to give back some code, but this is a government project and it felt like there was going to be some difficulty...
