patch v1

This trivial patch allows storing internet style email addresses in the gecos
field. I cannot find a reference online anywhere that dictates what is & isn't
forbidden, apologies if some pedantic standard from the 1990s does so.

Whether the code change goes in or not, I'd like to improve the documentation
to pw(8), currently included in the patch.
