We moved from VMWare to Xen. Xen has a lot of momentum behind it -- Citrix is on board to get FreeBSD the best support possible. It's actively hacked on in HEAD. We run 9.1-RELEASE with a XENHVM kernel without any major issues. All of our VMWare crashes have gone away.
