Got through it using make install FORCE_PKG_REGISTER=yes OVERWRITE_DB=yes SKIP_DNS_CHECK=yes But now I get "bind on unix socket: permission denied" I did a chown -R on the var/db/mysql and everything under it but still the same error... Hints? -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG] On Behalf Of Mike Sent: Saturday, February 01, 2003 1:33 PM To: questions@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: MySQL and Perl error Hi All Kinda stuck bad on this one and need some pointers. While reinstalling MySQL I get ===> Extracting for mysql-server-3.23.54 >> Checksum OK for mysql-3.23.54.tar.gz. ===> mysql-server-3.23.54 depends on executable: libtool - found ===> mysql-server-3.23.54 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/perl5.00503 - not found ===> Verifying install for /usr/local/bin/perl5.00503 in /usr/ports/lang/perl5 ===> Installing for perl-5.6.1_11 ===> perl-5.6.1_11 is already installed - perhaps an older version? If so, you may wish to ``make deinstall'' and install this port again by ``make reinstall'' to upgrade it properly. If you really wish to overwrite the old port of perl-5.6.1_11 without deleting it first, set the variable "FORCE_PKG_REGISTER" in your environment or the "make install" command line. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/lang/perl5. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/mysql323-server. How can I fix this? I am digging in Google but have found few helpful ideas so far. Can I change the make file to not use Perl? I upgrade to Perl5.8 for Webmin so this may be the issue.
