Hi everybody,
I'm not sure I'm writing to right list.. but anyway.
I've installed FreeBSD 4.3 - Release on a Compaq Proliant M330 (PIII 933)
with the intention of making a firewall out of it.
I have to Intel Ether Pro 100 on it.
Everything went just fine with the install and I am planning of using a
transparent caching with squid.
I succesfully recompiled the kernel and the squid distribution. The one I
use is squid-2.4-stable1.
The squid starts OK and during the very first access from outside it
crashes with:
FATAL: Received Segment Violation...dying.
and the squid restarts...
I tried compiling the squid distribution with and without various options:
--enable-snmp, --enable-async-io, --enable-ipf-transparent (I've done some
testing without the transparent caching, even then it crashes..)
Ah, and I use softupdates on the partition hosting the squid directories...
Could anyone give me a hint?
