The following reply was made to PR ports/146256; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Kyryll Mirnenko <xmirya@gmail.com> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, joey@mingrone.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/146256: x11/xorg does fails to start after upgrade from 7.4 to 7.5 (Undefined symbol "xf86LoaderReqSymLists" in intel_drv.so) Date: Sun, 16 May 2010 22:16:31 +0300 I confirm the problem on my system. FreeBSD miryanote 8.0-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 8.0-RELEASE-p2 #25: Mon Jan 11 14:23:16 EET 2010 root@miryanote:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/MY-LITE i386 agp0: <Intel 8285xM (85xGM GMCH) SVGA controller> on vgapci0 agp0: detected 32636k stolen memory agp0: aperture size is 128M drm0: <Intel i852GM/i855GM GMCH> on vgapci0 vgapci0: child drm0 requested pci_enable_busmaster info: [drm] AGP at 0xe8000000 128MB info: [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20080730 No extra options are set for Device section of the "intel" video driver in xorg.conf . The configuration works well with xorg-server-1.6.5, but with 1.7.5 the whole system (not just X) hangs after the X server has just started - the screen is blank, no way to get the Xorg.log as it's not yet flushed to the disk. Also, changing the driver to "vesa" in the same xorg.conf makes the X server start with no problem.
