Surely you can do it -- there are plenty of examples on how to localize a set of MASTER_SITES to specific distfiles, and you've been a ports developer for what, 5 or 6 years, right? I didn't write it or put it in its current state, and you have no right to "fix" the problem this way. This has no bearing on my request for you to back out the commit you made which is still the wrong way to fix your problem. So please just back out your commit and fix the perl5 port.
