Well, funny that, 'cause I was in fact tempted to cite Knuth's Tangle/Weave environment as another example of someone taking the right general approach to solving this problem at a higher level of sophistication, and why didn't the C community ever try to evolve something similar for itself, but then I thought: "Naah!" :-) Jordan P.S. You will at least note that I recently commited a README file to /usr/src. Does this count as a start? ;-)
