I'm studying the firmware spec to see if I can get more info from the drive. In fact I am sure it can be done, it's just that I have to find out how to get a 'scsi' script to do it. In the meantime you might also be interested in trying 'DLTTOOLS' from the Quantum website. You should be able to test the drive a bit more.
