There are several reasons a mouse may not work all under the general heading... Not set up correctly.

If you are running moused <the mouse at the text console>
then X must be configured to use /dev/sysmouse instead of /dev/psm0 <I think that's right>

If you don't have moused running ensure that your mouse is indeed set to /dev/psm0 and that the protocol is set to Auto.

Your message is hardly specific enough for me to give you any real help. All you really said is my ps2 mouse that used to work doesn't work and I tried everything.

Please be more specific about everything you tried.

Dave

  Subject: Mouse

I have a ps2 mouse and it worked under the last install. Yesterday for other reasons I have reinstall free BSD. I did nothing different on this install, I have updated to STABLE and now I'm trying to install X and KDE. Well my mouse wont work. I have tried everything I can find from the handbook and searching the mail lists. I have tried every setting and I get nothing. Is there possibly something I'm not seeing. It was right there the last time I never even set up anything.

  Jk
