That's what I asked some months ago, but then somebody pointed me at
style(9), near the end:
"usage: f [-aDde] [-b b_arg] [-m m_arg] req1 req2 [opt1 [opt2]]\n"
"usage: f [-a | -b] [-c [-dEe] [-n number]]\n"
So it seems it's more like -[0-9][AaBbCcDd...Zz], which also makes
sense, e.g. when -D overrides/negates -d.
