It's been awhile, but changes written for the v4l project broke the pvrxxx port. There was an earlier pvrxxx port that had v4l support written into it that would work in 8 and early 9. I switched to linux due to the breakage but it still takes a bit of work to track down all the steps to make the card function. No need to have per-arch package for headers. bsd.pkgng.mk still ties NO_ARCH packages to ${OSREL:R} while in reality can be installed wherever FreeBSD ports are.
