I am getting some new database servers, and I need a fibre channel card to connect to the disk array. My current servers use the following: mpt0@pci0:5:0:0: class=0x0c0400 card=0x10201000 chip=0x06461000 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'LSI Logic / Symbios Logic' device = 'FC949ES Fibre Channel Adapter' class = serial bus subclass = Fibre Channel This card is not available any more. My vendor is offering these two options, but they are not FreeBSD people, and do not guarantee anything will work. QLogic SANblade QLE2460 4GB-FC LSI LSI7204EP-LC 4GB S Fibre PCI-e I have been able to find some mentions in the mailing lists that people were able to get the Qlogic card to work with the current microcode kernel module loaded, but it is not listed in the supported hardware page for FreeBSD 9.0. The LSI card claims on the tech specs sheet to have freebsd drivers, but again, it is not listed on the supported hardware page. I'm much more inclined to go with the LSI, mainly because I have experience with them. Can I expect this card to work with FreeBSD 9.0?
