I've recently found two rather divergent approaches to building products. 1 - Loadbuild does all the Makefiles, knows all the products inside and out, works with the engineers to create the product, and fixes it if it the build breaks. 2 - Loadbuild makes the product, the engineers create their own Makefiles, and they fix it if the build breaks. "Loadbuild" might a person or a team, but it's one part of the company. I'm just wondering how widely spread both approaches are. Other factors which might affect the choice are: complexity of product, size of company, etc. cheers -- Dan Langille The FreeBSD Diary - http://freebsddiary.org/ - practical examples To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-chat" in the body of the message
