Hi folks, Recently I've run into a problem where my sound will simply stop working unless I reboot the system. This seems... rather silly to me ;-) The error I get on the console is something along the lines of "Audio device isn't good enough for Esound" (obviously I'm paraphrasing, apparently this error wasn't critical enough to log so it's gone now that I've rebooted... damn /var/log/messages.) I shut down all programs I think could possibly be using /dev/dsp but... unless I reboot sound won't come alive... any hints? Or, alternately, a way to restart all currently running processes without actually rebooting the whole system again? Thanks, Erik.
