I am surprised you did not run into problems with the ports infra- structure, for there definitely are some still. The patch below is the first in a series of contributions to address this (though this specific one would not have lead to a failure -- yet). I plan on shortly committing patches by Yamaya Takashi, destilled from PR 175252, which will address further issues.
