I'm booting my PC164 from an 895:
ticso@cicely9# pciconf -lv
sym0@pci0:5:0: class=0x010000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x000c1000 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00
vendor = 'Symbios Logic (NCR) (LSI Logic)'
device = 'SYM53C895 Ultra-2 Wide SCSI'
class = mass storage
subclass = SCSI
Show config lists my two 810* controllers and show device lists the
devices of my 895 and my 810a.
But I always asumed that it's working because the 810ae isn't working
with my PC164 and confused SRM.
sym1@pci0:6:0: class=0x010000 card=0x10001000 chip=0x00011000 rev=0x23 hdr=0x00
vendor = 'Symbios Logic (NCR) (LSI Logic)'
device = '53C810 Fast/Narrow SCSI I/O Cntrlr'
class = mass storage
subclass = SCSI
sym2@pci0:7:0: class=0x010000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x00011000 rev=0x12 hdr=0x00
vendor = 'Symbios Logic (NCR) (LSI Logic)'
device = '53C810 Fast/Narrow SCSI I/O Cntrlr'
class = mass storage
subclass = SCSI
A shure winner is a 875 or 810(a) - not the newer 810ae which my sym1 is!
