I think the confusing thing here is that the man page doesn't clearly explain that: o For a given partition, all subdirectories accessable from a given machine must be specified on the same line. If they're specified on different lines, subsequent lines will fail. o Exportable directories that reside on different partitions *must* appear on different lines in /etc/exports.
